Last night was a disaster for conservatives all over the country. I know that many of the people at yesterdays protest felt like they had no other option, and in many ways I agree. However I think this will do nothing to further the goals of the MAGA movement and conservatives in general. Over the past year I have been moving closer and closer to becoming a full on collapsitarian and last night I think pushed me right over the edge.
When I first saw the protest outside the Capitol building I was happy. I was happy to see conservatives finally showing up in large numbers to protest against the establishment. I say establishment because I don’t believe there has been a real distinction between democrats and republicans in quite a long time. The politicians are simply establishment players that are more concerned with maintaining their power than they are with actually representing the American people. The difference between George Bush and Barack Obama behind closed doors is very little. Donald Trump was a wrench in the system. He wasn’t supposed to win, not only was he not supposed to win, but the establishment was certain the he could not win. So when he did, it revealed a chink in their armor. They were not going to let that grow into a hole, so what you get is the last four years. You get a revved up media machine that will lie and slander all day long with no remorse. You get an establishment who will gleefully take advantage of a non politician president. You get the DNC making absolutely sure that Bernie Sanders does not sniff a nomination. 2020 was the final boss fight, 2020 was the establishment flexing their muscles. They proved that they can use the media to lock you in your homes. They proved that they can make you believe that burning down city blocks is peaceful. They proved that they can make you do and say whatever is convenient for them at the time. Most importantly they have proved that they can divide us. They can force the American people into believing two different realities. I have seen people claim that the Capitol police did not use tear gas or pepper spray on the crowds of Trump supporters. This is verifiably false, but people believe it because they have been fed the narrative that when white people protest they are left alone. There are conservatives and Trump supporters who believe that the cops are there to defend the constitution. 2020 proved them wrong. The police are not your friend, if the establishment tells them that you are a dissident you will be hogtied and thrown in a prison cell regardless of what your rights are. Keeping us fighting each other helps the establishment maintain their control.
We need to stand united. We need to cut through the talking points that the establishment is feeding us. I’m as guilty of it as anyone and it is my responsibility to fight against it. When a police officer shoots a black man we need to investigate, but we also need to accept that these incidents are rarely motivated by racism because that divides us. We need to protest together as Americans, this should not have been a MAGA rally. This should have been an American rally. The establishment hates you, they want to use you, and it’s working. I hate Bernie Sanders policies but if he is who people vote for then he should win. You may hate Donald Trump but if people vote for him then he should win. Now don’t take this as me arguing to get rid of the electoral college or something like that, I believe the electoral college is a very important part of our republic. That is what we need to get back to, we need to stop being ok with massive federal government. We need to get back to self-reliance. There is so much that we agree on, we need to fight against the government together.
“We are not enemies, but friends. We must not be enemies. Though passion may have strained, it must not break our bonds of affection. The mystic chords of memory will swell when again touched, as surely they will be, by the better angels of our nature.” -Abraham Lincoln
There are so many disagreements I have with people on the left that stem almost purely from the fact that the government has too much power. We all need to recognize that it is not each other we should be fighting but our elected officials, we should be fighting against the ABC organizations that are controlled by the executive branch. We need to be able to condemn ANTIFA when they burn down private businesses and also condemn violence at the Capitol. When you go on social media and regurgitate these establishment phrases you are part of the problem. Last night was not terrorism. Last night was not a riot. Last night was hopefully the first step to more people waking up to what the actual problem is, the federal government. So look back at your social media history. Were you posting about the peaceful BLM protests while watching a building burn down? Did you tweet about how the violence was justified? are you now posting about how last nights protest was the worst thing that ever happened? I want you to really think about that. I want you to understand that the people who showed up to the capitol to protest and the actual peaceful BLM protestors want the same thing. We need to unite, we need to condemn those on both sides who want to vandalize and destroy private businesses because that is the only way we can move forward. We need to teach our children about the foundations of this country and how our republic is supposed to work so that the establishment can no longer lie to us. So they can no longer ignore the rights that you have. We have become lazy. We have allowed this great country to make us weak. It is time to stand up and say enough! Every member of congress should be removed, every senator should be removed, every federal agency should be disbanded, and we the people need to take back control of our lives.
Last night was a disaster for conservative because the establishment will lie and YOU will believe it.
